If I was that kid who started this whole mess, I'd watch my back the rest of the time while at IU.
I know his addiction is an "illness", but come on....don't you think cancer would have scared him straight? I know it would put me in my place.
At 6:05 PM, in the Bronx, the Sox and Yankees played a makeup game which was also the 4th time the teams had played in four days. The Sox came off an awful weekend, in which they scored only 5 runs in 3 games. Not only had they fallen to third place in the division, but also fourth in the wild card.
Shortly after 9 PM at Giants Stadium, the Pats and the Jets played another Tuna Bowl game. Most of us realistic fans realize the Patriots are not a good team this year and would have trouble winning in hostile territory.
The Boston teams ended up splitting the night (the Red Sox won 4-0 and the Patriots lost 20-19). Imagine what could have been had the Sox lost? (Ok, if your not a Boston fan, you can't really so pretend your two favorite teams played against their two arch rivals on the same day) It would have been a very dark day for many of us from Red Sox Nation. What if the Pats hadn't blown a 12 point 4th quarter lead? Mini celebrations would have erupted around the city that night and a sense of pride would have followed people to work or school on Tuesday.
