Everett has game, but no brain

By now everyone knows what the Red Sox Carl Everett did to umpire Ron Kulpa back in July (he head butted him, remember?). And Everett paid the price for his crime, by serving a 10 game suspension (which this reporter feels was fair).

This article is not about Everett's physical tirade, but about his verbal ones (you know, the comments that make some of Jimy Williams quotes look intelligent). Apparently, Everett knows more about science and history than any of us. Following is a quote from Carl about a couple of his beliefs:

I believe there were no dinosaurs. I've never seen one. I've never seen a Tyrannosaurus Rex. How do you know those bones are millions of years old? Stuff you can't prove, I don't believe. Like men walking on the moon. I guarantee you none of us have seen a rock from the moon. Half of what you hear, I don't believe-actually 95 percent of what I hear. It's just me-I have to witness it. I don't believe someone gor out of a ship up there.

Have you stopped laughing yet? Now, there is no need to pull out all the scientific evidence (carbon dating) to prove these, we all know it isn't fiction. This is like people saying the holocaust never happened. What we have here with Carl is a narrow minded conspiracy theorist at work. Something happened along the way when our system was trying to educate Carl.

Another favorite quote of mine is this:

Life's just like baseball. It's the only game where you're going to fail more that you succeed. The game of baseball is so mental, you're going to have more stress in this game. It's hard to live right, and it's hard to play the game of baseball right.

So, in the gospel accourding to Carl, we fail more than we succeed in life. I don't know about him, but I think that have succeed more often than failed in my life. Sure, I'm not rich or don't have a nice cushy job, but overall my life has been good. I would say this is true for at least 50-60% of our society.

So Carl, if you are reading this, the message that I have for you is simple; worry about YOUR life, your family, your team, your health, your game. Stop making yourself look like an idiot by saying things that make "Weird" Al Yankovic look normal. The world doesn't revolve around Carl Everett. Things have and will happen that you won't see.
